Kyanite

Kyanite is unique in having two hardness values. It has uneven splintery to fibrous fractures with perfect cleavage; it is full of small internal stress inclusions that occurred as the crystal formed at high pressure. It is usually seenin clusters of thin blades which are glassy but opaque.
